Mega Rayquaza Premium Tournament Collection: $49.99, 8 Packs

Pokémon's February tournament box holds the one Delta Reign card English packs won't: the full-art Mega Rayquaza ex. At its list price the packs cover most of the cost. What a store will charge is the open question.

The Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Tournament Collection box, gold and green with a Dragon Shield flap and the full-art Mega Rayquaza ex on its front, beside Delta Reign's Special Illustration Rare Mega Rayquaza ex 138/103

The Mega Rayquaza Premium Tournament Collection comes out on February 12, 2027, according to Pokémon's product page, with eight booster packs and the full-art Mega Rayquaza ex that English Delta Reign packs won't contain. Its distributor list price is $49.99, per Celadon Info and Bill's Archive. Pokémon's page gives no price.

At that price it's $6.25 a pack, 42 cents less than the last two Premium Tournament Collections and 69 cents more than a Delta Reign Elite Trainer Box at list. On November 3, 2026, Celadon Info showed no retailer listing and TCGplayer had no product page for it. Valued at a Delta Reign booster bundle's list price per pack, the eight packs alone come to 72% of the box's price.

Eight packs, six promo cards and Dragon Shield sleeves, with no price from Pokémon

Pokémon's page lists a foil Mega Rayquaza ex promo, three foil Trainer promos (Zinnia's Trust, Adventure Lantern and Mega Rayquaza Cap), two cards that form one Legendary Summit Stadium, 65 sleeves and a deck box made by Dragon Shield, a plastic coin, eight booster packs and a Pokémon TCG Live code. Bill's Archive notes two firsts: it's the first Pokémon TCG product with Dragon Shield accessories instead of Ultra PRO, and the first Premium Tournament Collection built around a Pokémon rather than a Supporter.

The older boxes also came with a large metal coin, six damage dice and two condition markers. Pokémon's list for this one names only a plastic coin. It also doesn't say which set the packs come from: "8 Pokémon TCG booster packs" is the whole line. The product photo shows Delta Reign packs, and Bill's Archive lists the packs' set as not yet announced, so treat Delta Reign as likely but unconfirmed.

The sleeves drew the praise. Under the Reddit post that broke the news on October 29, u/youarenut (204 points as of November 3) wrote, "That sleeve is incredible wtf it should be its own card lol". That post's title gave the release as November 20, and u/lkhoffman92 replied, "The link says it releases in February, not November." The page said February 12 when we read it on November 3. Our 2026-2027 release dates list has the other official dates around it.

The full-art Mega Rayquaza ex is in this box and nowhere in English Delta Reign

Delta Reign's English list, shown on October 23, has 141 cards. It combines Japan's Storm Emeralda with cards from Japan's MEGA Starter Decks, and Bill's Archive's set page records three cards that didn't make it: two from Storm Emeralda, the full-art Mega Rayquaza ex (095/076), which becomes MEP 118 in this box, and the Kyogre Illustration Rare (080), which became the ETB's MEP 117; and the regular Eevee ex from the Eevee ex MEGA Starter Deck. The set keeps three Mega Rayquaza ex cards: the double rare 084/103, the Special Illustration Rare 138/103 by Kazuki Minami, winner of the 2024 Illustration Contest, according to Pokémon, and the gold Mega Hyper Rare 141/103. On November 3 TCGplayer listed those three English Mega Rayquaza ex and no fourth. Our Delta Reign chase cards ranking, written before this box was shown, put the Japanese full art fourth with no English version.

In Japanese, that full art (Super Rare 095/076) had a $33.14 TCGplayer market price on November 3. The Japanese set's two rarer Mega Rayquaza ex cost far more: $226.42 for the Special Art Rare 110/076 and $697.61 for the Mega Ultra Rare 113/076.

Collectors asked the obvious question first. u/Frigid-Kev (49 points as of November 3): "So wait, will this be the only way to get the Ultra Rare Mega Rayquaza ex?"

Not everyone liked the move. u/AnySail (96 points as of November 3) asked, "Why remove the full art from the set to essentially just make another ETB." In a thread the next day, u/EsperCloud04 (21 points as of November 3) countered that "Cards getting cut from the set and turned into promos happens pretty regularly," naming the Paldean Fates tin promos and 30th Celebration's Ditto. u/TheShinyHunter3 drew a narrower line: "It's genuinely rare for TPCi to remove full arts from normal sets to turn them into promos, but it has happened before."

The Ditto case is the one we can price. Ditto 106, the promo from the 30th Celebration Ditto Premium Collection, had a $40.45 market price on November 3, six times the $6.70 of the Japanese Art Rare Ditto 121/103. Our read: that shows a cut card can sell above its Japanese version in English. It doesn't show this one will, because the Ditto box was aimed at collectors and this one at players, who open their boxes.

At $49.99, the eight packs cost $35.92 at list and the rest about $14

Bar chart of price per booster pack: Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Tournament Collection $6.25 at list, Iono and Lillie boxes $6.67, Delta Reign ETB $5.55 and booster bundle $4.49 at list; on TCGplayer on November 3, 2026, the Delta Reign ETB $11.76, the bundle $8.83 and a loose pack $9.28Bar chart of price per booster pack: Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Tournament Collection $6.25 at list, Iono and Lillie boxes $6.67, Delta Reign ETB $5.55 and booster bundle $4.49 at list; on TCGplayer on November 3, 2026, the Delta Reign ETB $11.76, the bundle $8.83 and a loose pack $9.28 Chart: SetPulls. Sources: Celadon Info list prices; TCGplayer search API, read Nov 3, 2026.

At the Delta Reign booster bundle's list rate, $4.49 a pack, eight packs cost $35.92. That leaves $14.07 of the list price for six promo cards, 65 Dragon Shield sleeves and the deck box. Next to the ETB at list, you pay the same, get one pack fewer and spend 69 cents a pack more; our booster bundle breakdown runs the same per-pack math across six sets.

TCGplayer's November 3 presale prices flatter the box further. At the bundle's market price of $8.83 a pack, eight packs come to $70.61, and the ETB's $105.80 works out to $11.76 a pack. Those are prices from before Delta Reign is out on November 6. In each of this year's last three sets, the ETB lost at least 15% between three weeks before release and release week, our Delta Reign ETB page found, and this box ships three months after the set. So judge it on the list figures; our price-per-pack comparison sets list against TCGplayer for seven Delta Reign products.

All six earlier Premium Tournament Collections have a market price of $80 or more

Bar chart of TCGplayer market prices for unopened earlier Premium Tournament Collections on November 3, 2026: Marnie $119.39, Professor Juniper $109.69, Cyrus $90.33, Klara $97.16, Iono $94.11 and Lillie $80.34, all above a line at $49.99Bar chart of TCGplayer market prices for unopened earlier Premium Tournament Collections on November 3, 2026: Marnie $119.39, Professor Juniper $109.69, Cyrus $90.33, Klara $97.16, Iono $94.11 and Lillie $80.34, all above a line at $49.99 Chart: SetPulls. Source: TCGplayer search API, read Nov 3, 2026.

On November 3 the unopened boxes ranged from Lillie's $80.34 to Marnie's $119.39, from August 2021. Those are TCGplayer market prices, built from recent sales, not the cheapest listing. Iono's $94.11 is 2.35 times its $39.99 list, and Lillie's is 2.01 times. Both rose about half in the past 52 weeks: Iono from $62.91 in the week of November 10, 2025, Lillie from $54.16.

That's thin trade. TCGplayer recorded 211 Iono boxes and 272 Lillie boxes sold in those 52 weeks, four or five a week; in the week of October 26, one Iono box sold. One year after release, in the week of April 20, 2026, Lillie's box was $67.12 on four sales. This is what earlier boxes did, not a forecast for this one, which has two more packs and a list price $10 higher than the last two.

Preorder at $49.99 if you'd buy eight packs anyway; skip it above $80

For a player, it's a good buy at list: eight packs plus a deck's worth of Dragon Shield sleeves, a deck box, the Mega Rayquaza ex, three Trainer promos and a two-card Stadium for about $14 over the packs' list value.

For a collector who wants only MEP 118, the math is less clear. No English copy has a price yet, and the Japanese one is $33.14; our Storm Emeralda import guide covers what buying from Japan adds. u/BossFck's advice in the Reddit thread was to "buy the single when it hits 3 bucks." Nobody can test that before February.

Our line is $80. A preorder above it charges more than the market price of the cheapest earlier box, Lillie's, 18 months after release, and you'd be paying in November for a February box. What would change our mind: Pokémon naming the packs as something other than Delta Reign, which would change the $35.92 figure. Before you preorder, check when the store charges your card (Pokémon Center's rules) and what it usually asks over list (our MSRP guide).
