TCGplayer's Delta Reign Elite Trainer Box page on October 16, 2026: the green Mega Rayquaza box, its contents list and a $118.88 market price

The Delta Reign Elite Trainer Box comes out on November 6 with nine booster packs and a Kyogre promo. Its US list price is $49.99, but on October 16 its TCGplayer market price was $118.88, and of the three big stores we read that day, only Best Buy listed it at $49.99.

Contents: TCGplayer's product listing, October 16. Promo number: Bill's Archive. List price: Bill's Archive and The Lab TCG; Pokémon publishes no US price. Release: press.pokemon.com.

Pokémon's product gallery had no page for this box on October 16, so the contents above come from the description TCGplayer shows for it. We'll check them against Pokémon's list once it's out.

Our read: buy at list, wait on the market price

If Best Buy or Target sells you one, take it. At list a pack costs $5.55, and at $59.99 it's $6.67, both under what the Booster Box costs on TCGplayer. GameStop's $89.99 works out to $10.00 a pack; we'd pay that only if the alternative is TCGplayer.

If the market price is your only way in, we wouldn't pay $118.88 three weeks before release. That's 2.4 times the list price. Each of this year's three main-set ETBs cost about 30% less four weeks after release than it did three weeks before, as the price history further down shows. And if you only want packs to open, a Booster Box at $6.84 a pack beats the ETB at $13.21.

What would change our mind: the market price still above $101 in release week, the week of November 6. That's 15% under the $118.88 of October 16, and each of the last three sets had lost at least that much by its release week, so a box still above it is behaving like Ascended Heroes or 30th Celebration, not like a normal main set.

What the Delta Reign ETB costs on October 16

That list price isn't a number Pokémon publishes. Bill's Archive lists it as the US launch price and notes that "The Pokémon Company publishes no MSRPs"; The Lab TCG gives the same $49.99 and says its MSRPs "are from the distributor list". Here's where the box stood that day:

Best Buy's listing adds a line worth reading before you count on it: "This item is expected to sell out quickly. To improve your odds of getting one, we've updated our reservation process." At Target the $59.99 is $10 over list, and at GameStop the $89.99 is $40 over.

TCGplayer market price per pack of Delta Reign products on October 16, 2026: Booster Box at list $4.49, ETB at list $5.55, ETB at Target $6.67, Booster Box on TCGplayer $6.84, Booster Bundle $12.02, ETB on TCGplayer $13.21, loose pack $13.76TCGplayer market price per pack of Delta Reign products on October 16, 2026: Booster Box at list $4.49, ETB at list $5.55, ETB at Target $6.67, Booster Box on TCGplayer $6.84, Booster Bundle $12.02, ETB on TCGplayer $13.21, loose pack $13.76 Chart: SetPulls. On TCGplayer the box works out to $13.21 a pack. That's still a little cheaper than buying nine loose packs at $13.76 each, which would cost $123.84, so you get the promo and the sleeves and still pay $4.96 less than for the packs alone. But the Booster Box is the cheap way into packs on the market: $246.41 for 36, or $6.84 a pack, about half what the ETB charges.

What the last three main-set ETBs did after release

We pulled TCGplayer's price history for the Elite Trainer Box of each main set released this year, all with the same list price as Delta Reign's, and read the weekly market price about three weeks before release, in release week and four weeks after.

Bar chart of Elite Trainer Box market prices: Perfect Order $94.30 three weeks before release, $77.09 in release week, $66.37 four weeks after; Chaos Rising $108.61, $91.67, $76.31; Pitch Black $109.68, $83.73, $72.95; Delta Reign $118.88 three weeks before its November 6 releaseBar chart of Elite Trainer Box market prices: Perfect Order $94.30 three weeks before release, $77.09 in release week, $66.37 four weeks after; Chaos Rising $108.61, $91.67, $76.31; Pitch Black $109.68, $83.73, $72.95; Delta Reign $118.88 three weeks before its November 6 release Chart: SetPulls. TCGplayer market price, weekly readings from each product's price history. Delta Reign: October 16. Release dates: press.pokemon.com.

All three fell by about the same share, and more than half of each fall came before release week was over. If Delta Reign followed them, the box would sit somewhere near $79 to $84 in early December. That's what three sets did, not a forecast, and $84 would still be 1.7 times list.

Two special sets didn't follow the pattern. Ascended Heroes went the other way: its ETB rose 37.1% into release week, from $118.39 to $162.26, and was still $145.12 in mid-October. The 30th Celebration box barely moved before release (-2.2%) and then lost 27.3% in the four weeks after release week. Delta Reign is a main set with a 36-pack booster box, like the first three.

The box has already come down a long way. In its first week on TCGplayer, the week of August 17, it had a market price of $199.48 on six sales. It was $133.43 on September 30, the day Pokémon Center's preorders opened and its busiest day of the past month, with 80 sold. By October 16 it was $118.88, 40.4% under that first week.

What people paid for the last hot ETB

Three weeks ago r/PokemonTCG had the same argument about 30th Celebration. The post "No offense (maybe a little), but genuinely who is paying $180 for a 30th ETB??" drew 629 points and 427 comments on September 27. Its poster wrote: "I can literally just swing back target randomly or do Walmart drawings and get a couple close to MSRP."

The top-scoring reply, from u/CourbetEatingSourbet (610 points): "to people with money, 60 bucks and 180 bucks are the same thing essentially in terms of impact on their accounts". Whichever side you're on, the box was $132.03 on October 16, 26.7% under the $180 in that title. Anyone who paid the $180 in that title paid about $48 more than the box cost on October 16.

The Pokémon Center box sold the same way. In the Pokémon Center queue thread on September 30, u/zbullet99 (4 points) reported: "Sold out of etbs and booster boxes. Just bundles left." That 11-pack box had a market price of $451.57 on October 16, 7.5 times its $59.99 list, on 25 sales in three months.

Is the Kyogre promo worth much?

Probably not on its own. TCGplayer had no listing for the Kyogre promo when we searched on October 16, so there's no price yet. One guide is Perfect Order's box, which came with a full-art Tyrunt promo, and that card had a market price of $1.57 on October 16. The Pokémon Center-stamped Tyrunt from the 11-pack box was $29.10. So the unstamped Kyogre in the regular box adds a couple of dollars at most; the stamped one is where the promo money is.

That puts nearly all of the box's value in its nine packs. For what those packs are likely to hold, our Delta Reign set page tracks every card shown so far and the pull rates of the last three sets, and the prerelease guide covers the Build & Battle Box that comes out first, on October 24.
