Pokemon Blister Pack vs Booster Pack: What the Promo Costs
A blister is booster packs plus a promo on a card. In all 14 blisters whose promo we priced on TCGplayer, the promo was worth less than the blister charges for it, but at the shelf price the 3-pack is close to a fair deal.

A 3-pack Pokemon blister pack lists at $13.99 for Delta Reign, but on October 29, 2026, Pitch Black's had a $19.32 TCGplayer market price, $1.65 more than three loose packs. Its Binacle promo had a market price of 24 cents.
That gap shows up in every Mega Evolution set we priced. The blister costs more than its loose packs, and the promo is worth a small slice of the difference. On a store shelf the sums change, and Delta Reign's blisters, out November 6, are priced the way the last three sets' blisters were before release. This page is for anyone choosing between a blister and loose packs, in a checkout lane or online.
Four blister types, from one pack and a promo to three packs
Every Mega Evolution set we priced has a single-pack checklane blister and a 3-pack blister, and the last three also have a premium checklane blister. Contents come from Bill's Archive set pages; the Enhanced 2-Pack Blister is on Pokémon's October 2026 product list.
| Blister | What's inside | US list price | TCGplayer market, Oct 29, 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single-pack (checklane) | 1 booster pack, 1 promo, 1 coin | $5.49 (Delta Reign) | Chaos Rising Toxel $6.84 |
| 3-pack | 3 booster packs, 1 promo | $13.99 (Delta Reign) | Pitch Black Binacle $19.32 |
| Premium checklane | 1 booster pack, 2 or 3 promos (an evolution line), 1 coin | No list price found | Pitch Black Gengar $21.55 |
| Enhanced 2-Pack (Oct 2) | 2 booster packs, 3 foil cards, 1 coin | $10.99 reported, unconfirmed | $20.25 |
| Loose booster pack | 10 cards | $4.49 | Chaos Rising $5.68 |
List prices are distributor figures reported by The Lab TCG and PokeGuardian; Bill's Archive lists the Delta Reign 3-pack at $14.99. The pokemon.com pages we read give no blister prices. For Pitch Black's premium checklane, Bill's Archive lists 3 promos and TCGplayer's product text says "2 cards featuring an evolution line."
The packs are ordinary 10-card boosters, the same ones our booster pack breakdown covers slot by slot. What changes is the promo. Each set blister has its own numbered card, such as Charmeleon MEP 079 in the Chaos Rising 3-pack and Toxel MEP 078 in its single. The premium checklane reprints a full evolution line, Flygon's in Chaos Rising and Meganium's in Perfect Order, with a coin. Our products guide places blisters among the bigger boxes.
In the last three sets, a 3-pack blister costs 55 cents to $1.47 a pack more than a loose pack
| Set | Loose pack | 3-pack, per pack | Single blister | 3-pack extra per pack |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Perfect Order | $5.92 | $7.00 | $7.19 | +$1.08 |
| Chaos Rising | $5.68 | $7.15 | $6.84 | +$1.47 |
| Pitch Black | $5.89 | $6.44 | $8.72 | +$0.55 |
| Delta Reign (presale) | $9.34 | $11.21 | $19.51 | +$1.87 |
| Phantasmal Flames | $12.15 | $14.00 | $12.87 | +$1.85 |
| Mega Evolution | $9.06 | $11.49 | $13.95 | +$2.43 |
TCGplayer market price, Near Mint or unopened, English, read October 29, 2026. Phantasmal Flames and Mega Evolution use the cheaper of two 3-packs.

At Delta Reign's list prices it's close. $13.99 for three packs is $4.66 a pack against a $4.49 loose pack, so the promo costs $0.52. The single blister at $5.49 is $1.00 over one pack for a promo and a coin. We found no list prices for the earlier sets' blisters.
The two oldest sets cost more because their loose packs went up, and the blisters followed. A Phantasmal Flames pack had a $6.25 market price in the week of December 15, 2025 and $12.15 now; the Mega Evolution Psyduck 3-pack went from $25.61 in the week of December 1, 2025 to $44.74.
11 of 14 set blister promos are worth under $1; Psyduck is $10.44
We priced the 14 promos from the Mega Evolution, Phantasmal Flames, Perfect Order, Chaos Rising and Pitch Black blisters. Eleven had a market price under $1, from Binacle's $0.24 to Golduck's $0.89. Drifblim was $1.80, Drifloon $3.90 and Psyduck $10.44.

Psyduck is the one case where the promo moves the price. Mega Evolution's two 3-packs hold the same packs; the Psyduck one costs $10.26 more than the Golduck one, close to the $9.55 between their promos.
Premium checklanes point the same way. Pitch Black's Gengar version is $4.41 to $6.60 dearer than its other three, and its top card, Gengar 050/088 Cosmos Holo, is the dearest of the four lines at $7.10 against $2.73 to $4.76.
The Enhanced 2-Pack Blister drew this reply on r/PokemonTCG from u/NachoCheeseVolcano69 (5 points as of October 29), quoting a post that called it $10.99: "Like is this supposed to be a great deal?"
At $10.99 it was, by these numbers. Its three foils have market prices of $7.10, $0.26 and $0.59, $7.95 together. u/Exavion described the packs in theirs: "Chaos Rising and Pitch Black, cool coin and those gengar/kyu cards." Pokémon doesn't name the sets; if that's typical, the parts come to $19.52, near its $20.25 market price. The $10.99 itself is an estimate: PokeGuardian wrote that the MSRP "should be $10.99 USD, we will confirm this later."
Blisters fell 22% to 42% from 11 days out to release week
Delta Reign's current TCGplayer week started on October 26, 11 days before its November 6 release. We compared the same week for the last three sets, the one starting 11 days before release, against their release weeks.
| Set | 3-pack, 11 days out (sales) | Release week (sales) | Change | Single, 11 days out | Release week | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Perfect Order | $36.86 (43) | $21.34 (111) | −42% | $15.38 | $9.76 | −37% |
| Chaos Rising | $36.89 (61) | $25.61 (229) | −31% | $16.52 | $10.56 | −36% |
| Pitch Black | $27.72 (75) | $21.76 (112) | −22% | $17.09 | $11.84 | −31% |
| Delta Reign | $33.64 (16, week unfinished) | Nov 6 | $19.51 | Nov 6 |

On October 29, Delta Reign's 3-pack was 2.4 times its $13.99 list and its single 3.6 times $5.49. Applying the earlier drops to $33.64 gives $19.48 to $26.41; that's arithmetic, not a forecast. That price rested on 16 sales in the week so far, and 80 copies in all since presale began. We checked again on October 31: $33.29 for the 3-pack and $19.12 for the single, on 27 and 21 sales so far that week, so neither had moved more than 40 cents. Our Delta Reign price-per-pack comparison puts the blisters next to the box and bundle.
On the shelf a 3-pack costs 52 cents extra; online, $1.65 or more
In a store at list, the 3-pack is the blister worth picking up: at Delta Reign's prices you pay 52 cents over three loose packs. Our guide to buying at MSRP covers store limits before Delta Reign. On TCGplayer it flips. Every 3-pack we priced cost more than its loose packs, from $1.65 extra in Pitch Black to $17.56 for the Psyduck blister, so online the loose packs win; if you're picking a set to open, our Perfect Order, Pitch Black and Chaos Rising comparison ranks them.
The single and premium checklanes make sense when the coin or the evolution line is what you want. Online we'd skip the premium ones: $21.55 for Pitch Black's Gengar version buys one pack, a coin and a line whose best card sells for $7.10 on its own. What we can't tell you yet is what Delta Reign's own blister promos are worth. Neither the Seel nor the Spritzee promo card was listed on TCGplayer on October 29, so for Delta Reign the sums stop at the packs. Its store promos are a separate route, covered in our Delta Reign promo guide.
Reseal worries come up with blisters too, though less money rides on them. Asked whether a blister bought on Vinted was resealed, u/comercialyunresonbl (13 points as of October 29) replied: "Seems like that wouldn't be worth anyone's time for a $10 pack." Our resealed box checklist covers the bigger boxes, where it is.
Buy the 3-pack at $13.99 in a store, not Delta Reign's $33.64 presale
A blister is a pack deal with a near-worthless promo attached. At $13.99 that promo costs 52 cents and the 3-pack is a fair buy. At TCGplayer prices it costs $1.65 to $4.40 in the three newest released sets, for a card worth 24 to 76 cents. Even the Psyduck doesn't justify its blister: three loose Mega Evolution packs and the single Psyduck come to $37.62, against $44.74 for the 3-pack.
Don't pay $33.64 for Delta Reign's 3-pack before November 6. Each of the last three sets' 3-packs was cheaper in release week than 11 days out, by 22% to 42%. We'd change that view if Delta Reign's 3-pack holds above $30 through November with more than 100 sales a week, as the earlier release weeks had.
