Pull rates by rarity

Chance of each rarity in one booster pack, with the 95% confidence interval TCGplayer reports. "Any specific card" is the chance of one named card of that rarity.

TCGplayer Authentication Center, 2,000+ packs, published February 24, 2026, checked October 12, 2026. Read TCGplayer's article.

  • Ultra Rare: Lower than the ~8% TCGplayer saw in Mega Evolution and Phantasmal Flames: per TCGplayer, a Mega Attack Rare replaces an Ultra Rare in packs where it appears. TCGplayer's Ultra Rare detail table prints 20.77%; its summary table, used here, says 4.81% (1 in 21).
  • Special Illustration Rare: TCGplayer found no God Packs (three Mega Attack Rares and seven Special Illustration Rares) in its 2,000+ packs, so they are not in these rates.

How we got these numbers

  • Release date: January 30, 2026 in English, from The Pokémon Company's press schedule.
  • Card count: official checklist (PDF); pokemon.com. The card list is imported from the TCGdex API with our own script, matched to the official checklist's numbering, and each rarity's count is checked against a second source (the checklist or the pull-rate article).
  • Pull rates: TCGplayer Authentication Center opened 2,000+ packs and reports each rate with a 95% confidence interval. The ± is that interval: with a bigger sample it gets narrower. We copy the rates as published and do not adjust them.
  • Products: pack counts from pokemon.com product pages; MSRPs from the sources named in the table, each marked official, retail listing or secondary source.

Our take

Ascended Heroes is built differently from the other Mega Evolution sets: 295 cards, 22 Special Illustration Rares and a new Mega Attack Rare that, per TCGplayer, takes an Ultra Rare's place. From 2,000+ packs, any Special Illustration Rare is about 1 in 70, but one named card is about 1 in 1533, with an interval wider than the rate. TCGplayer finds the rates comparable to Mega Evolution and Phantasmal Flames; a specific chase card is much rarer because there are so many of them. The sample is small, so treat these numbers as early, and for one card, compare the single's price first.

FAQ

What are the Ascended Heroes pull rates?

TCGplayer's Authentication Center opened more than 2,000 packs and measured, per pack: Double Rare 20.37%, Illustration Rare 11.25%, Ultra Rare 4.81%, Mega Attack Rare 3.47%, Special Illustration Rare 1.44% and Mega Hyper Rare 0.19%. Each rate carries a 95% confidence interval, shown in the table above.

How many cards are in Ascended Heroes?

295 cards, printed out of 217, so 78 are secret rares: 33 Illustration Rares, 14 Ultra Rares, 7 Mega Attack Rares, 22 Special Illustration Rares and 2 Mega Hyper Rares.

What is a Mega Attack Rare?

A rarity new in Ascended Heroes: seven full-card alternate art Mega Evolution Pokémon ex cards with their attacks written over the art, numbers 265 to 271. Per TCGplayer it replaces an Ultra Rare in packs where it appears, and turned up in 3.47% of packs, about 1 in 29.

Does Ascended Heroes have God Packs?

Yes. TCGplayer says a tiny number of packs hold three Mega Attack Rares and seven Special Illustration Rares, but it found no God Packs in its 2,000+ packs, so the rates above leave them out.

How many packs are in an Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Box?

Nine booster packs; the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box has 11. Celadon Info, a secondary source, lists US MSRPs of $49.99 and $59.99.
